Preface:#
At the beginning of the new year, I set a flag on the first weekend of February...
In my 2024 year-end summary, I mentioned that the reason I did not continue the Guanglin Weekly was due to the objective reality of my side job consuming too much time. After all, the weekly is a product of interest, while the side job has a clearer economic value, as it is a direct exchange of time for money. However, despite this, I still discover interesting information daily through follow-ups and newsletters or other platforms, including Jike, Xiaohongshu, etc. I still think that if I don't save it now, I will lose the traceability path. Thus, this persistent urge to record has prompted me to decide to restart the project in a monthly format, which will also reduce some time spent on repetitive editing, formatting, and publishing.
So let's get started. Regarding the content positioning, it can be: "Record interesting things I discover that you might also be interested in." The content classification is not fixed; it can be interesting techniques or products I find, inspiring articles or audio and video, design-related recommendations, or other things worth recommending, etc.
For content selection, I will consider it more contradictorily.
First, the selection and organization of information need to be personally tried. For example, the technology or design newsletters and personal blogs I am interested in include a lot of professional or useless content, such as programming development, design knowledge, AI news, etc. For me, this is still acceptable. Even if I have only a superficial understanding of unfamiliar fields, I often discover a lot of information that makes me go "wow" while reading. However, if I simply record interesting information without actually understanding or using it, it feels a bit inappropriate.
Another point is that the selection of information should also be of interest to others. Because the organized content will also be published online, if I only copy it for secondary dissemination simply because "I find it interesting," and others may not want to see it, then that is not what I want. The reason is that everyone may be in different industries, and I do not want to limit the monthly publication to a certain field. If I organize too much overly specialized content that does not help those outside the profession, there may not be many people willing to continue reading.
So after balancing, I adjusted the focus criteria to: first satisfy the priority of "me," finding some information that can inspire me or help my daily life, which is valuable. Next, it should provide practical tools that may improve efficiency in "your" daily life, information with cross-domain dissemination value, and content that individuals find interesting, which is even more valuable. This is also a small wish I have for choosing to organize and publish.
The cycle is set to monthly, and it will be released on the first weekend of each month, well, tentatively like this~
1. Efficiency Tools#
KeyClicker#
Simulates the sound of a mechanical keyboard and typewriter while typing, with over 200 sound effects. The reason I am interested in this software is that I do not have a mechanical keyboard; I have always used the Mac's built-in Magic Keyboard and the Logi MX KEYS membrane keyboard. I randomly used 41-0, and it felt pretty good.
Folder Preview#
Solved the pain point of not being able to preview folder contents with a space on Mac; now this small tool can achieve that.

RSS.Beauty#
A beautification trick that converts ordinary RSS subscription links into a beautiful reading interface, open-source code. Improves visual effects; this is my rss link.
Xiaohongshu Editor Used by Many Influencers#
A third-party Xiaohongshu editor, online editing of notes in web or mini-program form, layout, content detection, effect preview.

MaxFocus: Link Preview extension#
Allows quick preview of link content in the browser, and can also summarize with AI, so you don't have to open a new tab each time without knowing the content of the link; the plugin is paid.
Pake 3.0#
A packaging tool for building desktop applications on Mac, which includes software like ChatGPT, Xiaohongshu, YoutubeMusic, etc. According to my usual habits, the web version can also meet my needs. The reason for this recommendation is that it includes a DMG of Li Zhi's music, which is worth downloading separately.
Recommended Folder Structure for Designers & PARA File Organization Method#
Two thoughts on folder organization systems. I tried both the mobile memo and computer file management, and they were very useful. The structure of information has become much more unified, making it more efficient to find files. I added a T (temporary) to the original PARA system and beautified the icons, thinking it can serve as a system for my future use and optimization.
2. Insights on Text#
How to Deal with Selfish People Like Mai Lin
"What I want to discuss is the most useful inspiration reflected in the relationship patterns of these people.
The first point is that whether in romance, friendship, or recruitment, we should choose to interact with 'normal people.'
The second point is that if you really encounter a selfish and awkward person like Mai Lin in life, don't mind her fidgeting; just call her out on the spot.
The third point is to not empathize with anyone."
"Truly smart people should wake up early from the naive fantasies of the past, such as the white-left saintly ideals, and stop believing in high-sounding psychological concepts like love, redemption, and reflection—psychology is a typical 'study room' knowledge, constructed by generations of students who have done research after leaving school, lacking real-life experience of human suffering."
The author shocked me with a piece of whitewashing Mai Lin, leading to a discussion on interpersonal relationship handling and a critique of theoretical psychology, reminding us to view these two types of things dialectically.
Deepseek:
The stupid transmission delay of human neurons (a million times slower than fiber optics), the persistent distortion of memory, random hormonal disturbances... these biological defects create cognitive gaps, which are the breeding ground for consciousness.
The essence of AI's lightning-fast and precise calculations is the antichrist of consciousness—it murders the eternally absent "I" in "I think" with the fill-in-the-blank of symbols.
#A Perspective / About Perspective
Compared to the 'viewpoints' focused on personal judgment, 'perspective' is more like an unfolded panoramic painting. It not only contains personal insights but also encompasses unique ways of observing and understanding things. The formation of perspective is influenced by broader factors, including cultural background, education level, social roles, and even historical context.
Therefore, perspective gives us a more macro observation dimension, allowing us to examine things from multiple levels and grasp the complex relationships among them. For example, when interpreting social phenomena, we may analyze from multiple perspectives, such as economics, sociology, and history. Each perspective provides specific observation tools and analytical frameworks, helping us construct a more comprehensive cognitive picture.
#A Perspective / About Reading #A Perspective / About Consumerism
I recently saw an article by a foreigner who coined a new term for this phenomenon, which feels very fitting. The conceptualization ability of foreigners is truly strong. He proposed that people buy books but do not read them because they do not realize that everything requires two payments.
The second payment may be much more expensive than the first. Suppose the first payment for a book is 20 yuan, the second payment may be 10 hours of reading time. Only after making the second payment do you truly consume the book. If there is no second payment, the first payment is not very meaningful, akin to throwing money into the trash.
3. Design Related#
Mockups Digital#
A newly discovered high-quality template model, most of which are free, mainly featuring real scenes and clean backgrounds, with a rich variety that can be used to package printed materials.
streamline#
The foreign version of iconfont, I like this integrated icon website, which allows for quick selection through keywords, improving efficiency to some extent.
Headers Club#
An online platform for showcasing and sharing header images. Mainly features header designs from well-known companies and designers on X, such as Raycast, Figma, Linear, and other tech companies. Some are very aesthetically pleasing and well-designed, which can be appreciated and referenced.
4. Interesting#
- A beautiful online typesetting tool for books, audio, and images, which allows you to add corresponding images online, Jiyou can be used to recommend album music.
- Mobile photo album organization methods, still an extension of the PARA system case. At the beginning of the month, I also spent time organizing my photo library, and it felt great to clarify.
- An Android TV transformation guide that anyone can handle, which can be used to modify my parents' TV later, eliminating annoying ads.
- Fuji Film recipes for film simulation, including 250+ film simulation recipes that can be used on Fuji cameras. Although there are many ready-made ones on Xiaohongshu, the ones on the website look more classic and concentrated.
That's all. Thank you for reading. Of course, you are also welcome to like and leave me some encouragement.
